Morning Porridge Oats

I love oatmeal for breakfast. I find it filling and satisfying. As a kid, Mom added brown sugar and milk, which of course tasted awesome, but now I add healthier toppings and it still tastes amazing.

Make slow cooking oatmeal according to package directions. I use either Rogers (TM) Porridge Oats Steel Cut Oat Blend or Rolled Naked Oats (produced right here in Manitoba!)

I add cinnamon to taste while cooking.

Top it with:

  • Fresh berries or sliced banana
  • 1 tsp drizzle of maple syrup (some in my house prefer honey)
  • A couple splashes of almond milk
